Paint Fusion

On Saturday I decided to have a trip out to Inspiation crafts in Preston. This was the first time I had been and was going on a good friends advice, thank you Maureen. While I was there I spotted some beautifully painted wooden items. After receiving some fantastic advise and help from one of the shop assistance (Sue), I was able to buy the correct items to achieve the desired look.
Paint Fussion is for me I love it and it is so easy.
Below is my very first attempt at paint fusion.
Before starting I read and watched on the WEB as much information about techniques etc that Sheena Douglass has very kindly provided.
To make the heart plaque I firstly crackled the background to give it that aged look.
I then stamped my image on ( Sheena Douglass Fushia stamp set).
Finally I started to paint in the image using the paint fusion technique (very easy to do).
To add a little sparkle I embossed some swirls on to the heart.

Crafting to take my mind off the pain.

Hello and welcome to all my new followers, thank you for taking the time to look at my crafting.

This last week has been spent recovering from exstensive dental work, so to keep my mind off the pain I have tried to craft.

The first of my items is a memory wedding box, to make this I first made a 5in x 5in x 2.5in box. Using white century pearl 300 gsm card.

I then decorated the lid with spellbinder dies.

Spellbinder Dies used are:

Nestabilities majestic elements. This die is so useful as it gives you so many different options.

Shapeabilities antique frame and accents. This was used to decorate around the edge of the lid.

To finish off I used cosmic shimmer to make little pearls.

My second project is a commissioned card.

I made this by using an emossibilities folder to emboss the background using kanban cream card.

Using spell binders majestic elements I layered the centre topper again using Kanban card. I think this card came with the Great British kit of 2012.

Embellishments are from my stash

Cream cosmic shimmer has been used to make little pearls on the background.

My third project is a wedding card

For this I have matted and layered onto glittered embossed parchment paper from my stash.

Embossed using my emossibilities

I have then used the die d lites gilded gate 2. I cut 2 of these cut out the middles and stuck them end to end to form a frame.

I then used die d lites vines of passion, cutting 2 again to make the main topper in the middle.

The rose I made by sticking double sided tape to the bottom edge of the ribbon and rolling it up to form the flower. A bow was made with ribbon from my stash to form the embellishment.

I hope you like my creations and I thank you in advance for any comments you may leave.

Hope you have a great day xx

First of all I must apologies for the lack of blogs recently, life has been so busy as it is for all of us at this time of the year.

Below is a cushion I have made to brighten up my living room.

I am very new to quilting so there are a couple of mistakes, but as they say it is the only way to learn.

All materials used are 100% cotton.

Three new projects

Firstly I must apologies for my lack of blogs lately. Life has been so busy, what with work, my son being quiet poorly and my daughters 21st birthday time has proved to be very short. So I thought that I would post three projects at once.

The first of my projects is my first attempt at a bookatixs card using the the glitter girls bookatrix board.

I gilded the second sheet, then edged all the book with peel off edges from my stash.

Kanban butterflies and sentiment were then mounted onto the card. To finish I added a feather with a matching bow and rose.

My second project is a bookatrix christmas card that I have embellished with Kanban toppers and extras from my stash

My final project is a first go at stencilling candles.

I have used the reindeer stamp from Anne Marie. Stamped onto tissue paper with red distress ink.

Then melted the stencil into the candle

I hope you like my projects xxxx

Bling it up Christmas wreath

Today I have tried something new.
I was searching on the internet for something different to make for Christmas and came across these really pretty wreath kits from
http://www.craftworkcards.co.uk/products/2658/candy-cane-christmas-wreath-kit.html

They do take a little time to make as you need to mould each flower and leaf to give the wreath texture.

I have decided to enter this into Emmas anything goes challenge  and My Craft Creations bling it up challenge.

AWOL

Firstly I must apologies for my lack of blogs over the last few weeks, things have been a little bit hectic.

Two weeks holiday, getting my daughter ready to return to Uni, completing some orders and returning to work myself.

So I have decided to post 4 cards this week to make up.

All the cards have been made using Kanban products. I must admit I am an unashamed avid fan of Kanban.

The first three cards have been made using the Lavendar Rose kit and stamps.

The fourth card is an order for a 50th birthday card and has been made using the Great British collection.

I do hope you enjoy looking at my cards, and I thank you for taking the time browse.

Do feel free to leave a comment as they are much appreciated.

My week

This week has been so busy with all sorts going on, but I have managed to hideaway for the odd hour or so in my craft room.

At the beginning of the week my One Christmas night Kanban kit arrived. Just like a kid at Christmas I couldn't wait to open my package and have a go. The quality and images are beautiful, and the cards are so easy to assemble.

Two of the mechanism cards will be going to my grand daughters, I haven't decided which two yet though.

Below you will see a couple of the cards that I have made.

Thank you so much for taking a look, and please feel free to leave a comment or follow my blog.

I hope you all have a good day and a lovely weekend.

Shaggy Christmas Wreath

Last night I finished my latest project of a Shaggy Christmas Wreath.
The wreath is made by shaping a metal coat hanger into a circle, don't cut the hook off.
I then cut 1 inch by 6 inch length of material and tide them close together on the hanger.
I then cut 1 large star and 2 small stars, used my sewing machine to embroider snowflakes on them, sewed and gently stuffed them.
Thee hearts are all the same size and I sewed a button in the centre of them.
Attached the stars and hearts to the wreath. I sewed them on but you could hot glue them.
Forgot to say that for the hook I attached double sided tape to 2 of the cut strips and wrapped them tightly round.
If you struggle with anything please contact me.
Thank you for looking

Emma's sketch challenge

This is the card that I have made to enter into Emma's sketch challenge. I have made the card by stamping a Me to You image and colouring with pro markers. The image is then mounted with a spellbinder frame onto holographic foiled card. I would love your feed back x

Yesterday I was really struggling for inspiration, and gave up on my crafting for the evening.

Today I have made this Christmas card.

I used Kanban papers form my backing and punched border.

I then cut out using the snow flake spellbinders die and built up the snow flake using the same technique as on C&C.

I then stamped using a me to you stamp keeping the theme of blue.

Would love your feed back as to whether my mojo has returned.
 Thank you all xxxxx

I have had a busy day today with three new projects for my daughters Uni room.I still need to add the cream ribbon to this door plaque.  I have used adorable scorable as the background, some embelishments from my stash.  The lace card was made with spellbinder die no 7

This box has been made from the Create & Craft Box Making Kit.  Embelishments from my stash and butterflies fromthe Kanban Best of British collection.

The frame is made from Scrap it Frames, covered in papers bought months ago in a kit, and embellished with die cut flowers and leaves.  I have aged the photo using an app on my phone. The photo is of my daughter and my grand daughter.
I have named the photo Having cuddles with my Auntie Jenni.

I do hope you like my latest projects and thank you so much for taking the time to look at my Blog xx

Callenge Card June 2012

Well today I decided I would have a go at entering Emma,s challenge.

I used Kanban adorable scorable for the backing and a die that I bought along time ago to use with a sizzix machine, which I might add I never managed to work properly.  So I used it on my grand callibur (new addition to my craft room) and it worked perfectly.  The large flowers are docraft with small ones being punched from Kanban. The rose I made from some embossed paper I had in my stash.  The ribbon came off some flowers I got for Mothers Day and the sentiment is again from Kanban.
Hope the cards meets the requirements.
